OK, I have my fall decorations up (I seem to do less each year) and pulled out some of my warmer tops to wear. So, I guess I’m resigned to winter coming again. I even turned up the thermostat this morning to kick in the furnace, and I’m wearing my fuzzy slippers. It’s chicken soup and chili weather!
“The Devil and Daniel Webster” opened this week and runs this weekend and next. Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with matinees at 2 p.m. Sunday. Be sure to come see Daniel (Ralph Beversdorf) battle the Devil (Geoff Madsen) in court, with the infamous Judge Hathorne (Stacey Myers) presiding. Will Jabez (Ethan Fregien) lose his soul to the Devil? More importantly to Emily (Maddi Stuewer), will she lose her husband? What will the Jury of the Damned decide?

The first Merry Mielke Christmas Craft Fair takes place on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Holiday vendors, Santa Claus, carolers and more will be on hand at the Mielke Arts Center. The people who present the Folk Music Festival every summer are presenting a Christmas concert this year on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. The headliners are Robin Pluer and Peter Roller. Robin is a WAMI Award winner and sings a mix of jazz, pop, R&B and contemporary songs. Peter is assistant professor of music at Alverno College in Milwaukee and a professional guitarist, working in many styles. These outstanding performers will give you a musical holiday treat. I’ll have more details regarding the program and tickets next month.
