Beatrice K. Staniforth, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at Manor Care in Shawano.
Beatrice was born on Jan. 13, 1927, in Chicago, a daughter of the late Jay and Charlotte (Hutson) Smith. On Nov. 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Thomas James Staniforth. They made their home in Illinois until they moved to Shawano. Thomas preceded her in death in 2003. Beatrice worked for Mars Candy for several years while living in Illinois, then enjoyed selling Avon in Shawano.
Beatrice was a loving, caring, and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed going out to dinner with her lady friends. She loved her home on the lake.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick (Cindy) Staniforth, of Shawano, and Thomas (Stacy) Staniforth, of Clintonville; two daughters, Jan Raddant (special friend Brent), of Shawano, and Kathleen (Jim) Welcing, of Bonduel; four grandsons, Ben Raddant, Jeremy Staniforth, Graham Karth and Hunter Staniforth; eight granddaughters, Bobbi (Chad) Griffin, Brandi (Mark Miller) Raddant, Callie (special friend, Scott) Griese, Teal Staniforth, Erin Welcing, Amy Staniforth, Melissa (Mike) Rymer and Amanda Fritz; five great-grandchildren, Lotus, Dashiell, Brystol, Hayden and Rylie; two stepgrandchildren, Zachariah and Cortland Watters; and many nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her daughter, Laurel; her son, Robert; her brother, Ogden; and two sisters, Imogene and Geraldine.
Funeral services for Beatrice will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano. The Rev. Luke Ferris, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be at Wescott Lake Drive Cemetery, Shawano.
