The new Shawano County Board has taken shape, following the April 2 voting results, according to the Shawano County Clerk’s Office.
District 4 incumbent Kimberly Leffel defeated challenger Blake Hampton 91-56.
Redistricting put two incumbents against each other in the new District 7. Jeremy Gretzinger beat out Mike Stupecky 227-98.
In District 12, results show incumbent Kathy Luebke topping challenger Dustin Robaidek 217-77.
District 16’s battle between registered write-ins Curth Korth and Lowel Hammett saw Hammett winning 35-25.
In District 17, challenger Al Kuhn defeated challenger Jesse Rankin 184-154.
Challenger Randy Mallmann defeated incumbent Devin Krizan in District 18 273-150.
Newcomer Lynn Tober-Steinke beat fellow newcomer Tyler Steenbock in District 19 221-174.
In another battle of newcomers, Raymond Rigsby topped Anne Smith in the District 22 race, 247-135.
Curtis Naja, an unopposed registered write-in for District 5, won with 10 votes.
Incumbents winning in unopposed races were Mike Wizner in D1, Annelies Hartwig in D2, Jacob Hartwig in D3, Randy Young in D6, Martin Elmer in D8, Ken Capelle in D9, Terry Tipton in D10, Jim Przyblski in D11, Kevin Conradt in D13, Matt Pleshek in D14, Russell Gehm in D15, Rick Giese in D20, Joe Miller in D21, Steven Natzke in D23, Bill Switalla in D24, Denny Knaak in D25, Tom Kautza in D26 and Tess Serrano in D27.
A referendum to raise the levy limit to pay for emergency medical services in Eland passed 54-11, while a similar one in Mattoon failed 85-22.
In the presidential primary, President Joe Biden won the Democratic vote with 2,217 votes. Dean Phillips gathered 89 votes, with another 87 as unrestricted.
Former President Donald Trump led Republicans with 4,639 votes. Nikki Haley gathered 515 votes, Ron DeSantis collected 120, Chris Christie had 70, Vivek Ramaswamy had 32, and another 110 were unrestricted.
Shawano County voters supported both state referendum questions. First, to prohibit private donations and grants from being applied for, accepted, expended or used in connection with the conduct of any primary election, general election or referendum, voters said yes 5,108 times compared to 2,688 no votes. Second, to allow that only election officials designated by law may perform tasks in the conduct of primaries, general elections and referendums, voters approved the measure 5,203 to 2,276.
Judge William Kussel Jr., running unopposed, picked up 6,454 votes.
