Bonduel sweeps Pacelli at home
Bonduel survived three close games at the hands of visiting Pacelli on Tuesday night, 27-25, 25-19, 25-21.
Hayley Pues tallied 13 kills and 13 aces, while Danee Collier and Kailee Pedersen each had 16 digs for Bonduel (12-11, 2-3 Central Wisconsin Conference-8).
Hayley Sorenson blocked three hits, and Brynn Reinke had 13 assists.
Wildcats take care of Port Edwards
After dropping the first set, Gresham rebounded to win the next three Tuesday night, 17-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14, over Port Edwards.
Sydney Jensen had 27 kills to pace Gresham. Mackenzie Hoffman added 24 digs. Taylor Hoffman earned 26 assists.
SCHS second at Clintonville
Shawano fell to the host Truckers in the championship match of the Clintonville Invitational on Saturday, 17-25, 25-21, 15-7.
Shawano had defeated Marion and Owen-Withee in pool play before falling to Abbotsford in the final match of the group stage.
In the first match of bracket play, the Hawks defeated Valders in straight sets, 25-19, 25-15, to reach the final.
Erika Dunnam had 59 attack kills and 36 digs to lead the Hawks, while Annelies Young had 81 assists. Brandi Gueths tallied 11 service aces and 10 block kills. Dunnam added 15 block kills.
BOYS SOCCER
SCHS allows 10 goals in loss
Tyrell Hesse recorded 19 saves, but it was not enough as Xavier scored seven goals in the second half to defeat the Hawks 10-0 Tuesday night.
The loss moved SCHS to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the Bay Conference.
Gresham pulls out close victory
Neal Cerveny scored the first goal on a penalty kick for the Wildcats, but Gresham trailed 2-1 to visiting Algoma at the intermission Tuesday night.
Two second-half goals, one by Levi Ludvigsen and another from Cerveny, gave the Wildcats a 3-2 victory.
Todd Otradovec recorded 10 saves for Gresham.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Shawano 11th at Ashwaubenon invite
Senior Clare Martell took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke and sixth in the 100 butterfly to earn 30 of Shawano’s 50 points at the Ashwaubenon Invitational.
Shawano took 11th place at the invitational out of 12 teams, with Bay Port running away with the title, scoring 400 points.
SCHS also scored points with a 14th-place finish in 200 medley relay and 13th in the 200 free relay.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Bonduel boys finish top 3
Jared Wondra (19:27), Austin Kurey (19:32) and Josh Schill (19:40) swept the top three spots for Bonduel at the Menominee Indian Eagle Invitational on Tuesday.
Bonduel won the boys meet with a team score of 21.
Menominee Indian did not have enough runners to compile a team score. Sonny Nacotee led the Eagles with a time of 20:42. Nikko Martinez finished in 23:46.
On the girls side, Ashyln Schnell led Bonduel with a second-place finish in 23:38. Sophomore Laney Richmond took fifth in exactly 24 minutes, as Arianna Factor followed in sixth place for a time of 24:23. Anna Palmer and Abigail Palmer finished in eighth and ninth place, respectively, to round out the team score at 30, three points behind the winner Marion.
Marion’s Delaney Greene-Gretz won the meet by over 3 minutes.
Mercedes Waupoose ran the Middle Village Cross-Country Course in 29:10 for Menominee Indian, with teammate Shania Teller finishing in 30:43.
