An open forum to discuss Oconto County health and human services needs is scheduled at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at New View Industries, 222 W. Park St., Gillett.
The Oconto County Department of Health and Human Services Board would like to hear from the public regarding community needs and priorities, the quality of programs, accessibility to services and suggestions for program improvements.
The board is responsible for advising the county on service needs and priorities for persons with disabilities, mental illness, alcohol and other drug dependency, and the frail elderly. It also oversees areas such as public health issues, BadgerCare, Foodshare, child day care, child protection, juvenile out-of-home care and juvenile justice needs.
The purpose of the meeting is to receive comments and information from Oconto County residents for the department’s 2016 budget process. The public is encouraged to attend.
