Harold R. Schultz, 67, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly late Thursday evening, July 2, 2015, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah, where he had been a patient for the past 17 days.
Harold was born on May 11, 1948, in Cumberland, a son of the late Everett and Gladys (Milkie) Schultz. He attended school in Shell Lake and following graduation attended technical school to be a machinist. On Sept. 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to the former Marlene Cuskey in Shell Lake.
Harold was drafted into the United States Army in 1968. He was stationed in Germany, where he was a machinist. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Upon returning from service, Harold and Marlene lived in the Shawano area throughout their married life. Harold had been employed at Paper Converting in Green Bay and Bert Anderson Chevrolet in Shawano. He was later employed at Timbco in Shawano as a machinist for over 30 years. Upon Harold’s retirement he mowed lawns and bartended at Salty’s Saloon. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid bowler and a member of the Red River Sportsman Club. He rode his Harley Davidson motorcycle for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Stony Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, of the town of Richmond; two daughters, Dee Schultz, of Shawano, and Dawn Schultz, of Wild Rose; six grandchildren, Anthony Warrington, Wyatt Reinke, Desirae Warrington, Makenzie Reinke, Cora Reinke and Morgen Schultz. He is further survived by one sister, Karen (Ed) Schuirmann, of Watertown; two brothers, Kenneth (Diana) Schultz, of Arizona, and Jay Schultz, of Shell Lake; his grandson-in-law, Nick Thiel; and his granddaughter-in-law, Luz Salas; many nieces and nephews; special friends Earl Moesch, Jim Palmer and Mouse Hess; his seven furry feline friends; and many other good, good friends.
Harold was preceded in death by one grandson, Austin R. Adams, and two brothers, Wayne Schultz and Gary Schultz.
A Celebration of Life for Harold R. Schultz will take place on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 3-6 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. A prayer service will take place at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials in the name of Harold Schultz.
