The Gillett Public Library celebrated the opening of the new Community Center on June 13.
The Gillett Public Library Board, Friends of the GPL and library staff participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Hintz 4-H Club served root beer floats, and Thurmont Ridge performed in the Community Square.
The summer reading program kids were encouraged to wear their capes to celebrate this year’s superhero theme.
The library purchased the BMO Harris bank building in May 2014 to create a community center. The facility is equipped with four meeting rooms, a new bathroom and lots of counter space.
