Gordon B. Parsons

Gordon B. Parsons, 85, of Shawano, was called home to his Lord on July 13, 2013. Gordon was born on July 16, 1927, in Norwood. He was a hard-working man, holding many jobs in his lifetime such as farmer, logger, cattleman, truck driver, coach bus driver and owner/operator of a milk transport company and the Cecil Diner. During his retirement he worked as a janitor for St. James Early Child Care Center and for Wolf River Lutheran High School. He loved playing cards, fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Gordon is survived by: his second wife, Roxane (Wunsch); his children, Randy (Denise), of Dubuque, Iowa, Joan (Chuck) Urban, of Shawano, Jeff, of Shawano, Jill (Jay) Brown, of Green Bay, Diane (Ed) Durkee, of Shawano, Tammy (Kevin) Zuleger, of Bonduel; daughter-in-law, Carla Parsons, of Bonduel. He is further survived by his stepchildren, Rick (Laurie) Wunsch, of Trempealeau, Paula (Larry) Lamdin, of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Judy Wunsch Torcia, of Nashville, Tenn., and LauraLe Wunsch, of Oakland, Calif; sisters, Bernice Pearson, of Wausau, Margaret Bartz, of Antigo; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Parsons, and brother-in-law, Bob Kohn, of Antigo; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Muriel; son, Larry; brother, Carl; and two sisters, Delores Kohn and Lorraine Hintze. Funeral services will be held on his birthday on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
