Gloria M. Pagel

Gloria M. Pagel, 95, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Saturday evening, Jan. 3, 2026, at St. Clare Hospital. She was born May 26, 1930, in Goodman to William and Pearl (Schultz) Osweiler.

Gloria attended Oconto Falls area schools and graduated from high school in 1947, after which she began a life dedicated to family and faith. On Nov. 20, 1946, Gloria was united in marriage to Donald L. Pagel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spruce. The couple made their home in rural Oconto Falls for five years before moving into the city, where they would lovingly raise 10 children.

As a devoted homemaker, Gloria nurtured her family while also contributing to her community through her work as a CNA at Oconto Falls Nursing Home and Community Memorial Hospital, as well as providing housekeeping services for Dr. Siefert and Dr. Reidinger.

A devout Catholic, Gloria was deeply committed to her faith and the Blessed Virgin Mary, prompting her to become a Dominican Sister. She was a valued member of St. Michael Catholic Church and held a special devotion to daily prayer, often finding solace in the rosary.

Survivors are her children, Susanne (Gerald) Warzon, Larry (Rebecca) Pagel, Bill (Cathy) Pagel, Gloria (Jerry) Bigelow, David “Emil” (Gale) Pagel, Beverly (Paul) DeWolfe, Kara (Douglas) Meyers, Lisa (Curt) Lotter, Keith Pagel; daughter-in-law, Linda Pagel; grandchildren, Jeff, Andy, Julie, Lara, Nicole, Aaron, Justin, Courtney, Kelly, Kyle, Brandon, Robbie, Alexa, Brittany, Zachary, Teri, Erica, Stephanie, Mitchell, Jacob, Travis and Rachel; numerous great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Thomas Pagel; parents, William and Pearl; brother, Russell “Jack” Osweiler; grandchildren, Joel, Jacob and Sarah; great-granddaughter, Aubrey.

Friends may call on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, after 9 a.m. at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Funeral services will follow at noon with Father Andrew Dwyer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
