Glen John Fischer

Glen John Fischer, 85, of Gillett, passed away on Sept. 24, 2015, at Kindred Hearts in Shawano. He was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Marshfield to the late John and Mary (Krohn) Fischer. He married Veronica Lucille Faucher on Aug. 5, 1950, in Marshfield. He moved to Milwaukee, where he operated Glen Fischer Roofing Company for many years. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the carpenters union. He enjoyed hunting, shaking dice and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his dog, Missy. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael; two sisters, Mary Jo and Arlene; one brother, Larry; and one brother-in-law, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Veronica; three daughters, Arla Fischer, of Gillett, Kathy and Larry Stein, of Menomonee Falls, Patty and Dave Weglarz, of Germantown; one son, Rodney and Jean Fischer, of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Eugene, Michael, Kristine, Adam, Danny, Nicole, Jimmy, Lindsey, Katie; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Anthony, Anabel, Brianna, Shayna, Claudia, Aaliyah, Millie; brothers and sisters, Shirley Fischer, Florence and Lawrence Hoffmann, Jim and Jackie Fischer, Marie and Bob Blanchard, Joyce and Ray Vander Zanden, Lucille and Arnold Mellenthin, Karen and Jeff Belk, Patsy and Jerry Pankratz, Bob and Mary Fischer. Friends called on Friday, Oct. 2, from 10-11 a.m.. at St. John’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at St. John’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dean Dombroski and Sister Marla Clercx officiating. Burial was in Wanderers Rest Cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks to Kindred Hearts and ThedaCare Hospice for their kindness and caring ways during Glen’s illness.
