Fred C. “Smiley” Pieper, 79, of Gresham, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at his home.
Born on Oct. 27, 1933, in Sampson, he was the son of the late Fred and Ida (Hess) Pieper. On Sept. 5, 1970, he was united in marriage to Renee Hoffman in Michigan. Fred worked for Foreway Express for more than 28 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting.
Fred is survived by his wife, Renee; three children, Kenneth (Donna) Pieper, of Rice Lake, Roni Sue Schultz, of Gresham, and Jami (Robert) Ninham, of Gresham; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Tricia, Tony, Cierra; four great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Karen) Pieper, of Shawano; and two sisters, Helen (Bob) Paiser, of Leopolis, and Verna Buntrock, of Hortonville.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham with the Rev. Roland Golz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Frances Solanus Catholic Cemetery, Gresham. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Gresham on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
