Mother Nature forced the cancellation of the feature races Aug. 1 at the Shawano Speedway, but there was still good racing action with the heat races.
In the sport modifieds division, Seymour’s Tim Jorgenson and Shawano’s Travis Rhoades won the heats.
Marion’s Dan Michonski won the first heat in the stock car division, and Shawano’s Trent Nolan captured the checkered flag in the second heat.
For the modifieds, it was Oconto Falls’ Nicholas Holtger and Wausau’s Kevin Feck getting the wins.
Lexi Michonski, of Shawano, won the first heat in the sport compact division. The second heat was won by Clintonville’s Calvin Stueck.
On Aug. 8, the USRA late models are scheduled to return.
Mark Eswein, of Wisconsin Rapids, is the points leader in the stock cars division. He has 402, compared to Kyle Frederick, of Oconto Falls, who is second with 389.
Oconto Falls’ Cole Magnin leads the sport modifieds division with 441 points, followed by Tigerton’s Forrest Kernen with 423.
In the modifieds division, Shawano’s Jordan Bartz leads with 413 points, followed by Shawano’s Jeffery Teske with 412.
Brad Wedde, of Clintonville, leads the sport compact division with 375 points. He is followed by Clintonville’s Tanner Westphal with 367.
Shawano’s Troy Springborn has 220 points and leads the dirt late models. In second is Shawano’s Steve Kastning with 174 points.
