Farmers market opens June 19 for season

The FRESH Project-Shawano Farmers Market will open for the summer 2021 season on June 19. The open-air market, in its 14th year, will be open Saturdays 8 a.m. until noon, through Oct. 2 in Franklin Park, 235 S. Washington St., Shawano. “We are so excited to have a full market this season!” said Barb Mendoza, The FRESH Project executive director. “Shoppers will enjoy the products provided by our farmers, food vendors, and crafters. In addition to music in the park, we will have yoga on the grandstand.” Products sold include fruits, vegetables, flowers, landscaping plants, maple syrup, bread, cheese, fish, meats, and select, high-quality crafts. Any vendors who would like to join in on the fun can go to http://www.thefreshproject.org/forms. In addition to a full market, The FRESH Project will host a 5K fun run/walk on July 10 in conjunction with Shawano Fest. You can sign up at www.thefreshproject.org. The market will also offer extended hours until 1 p.m. that day. Kids Day will be held on Aug. 21, where kids will enjoy a variety of games and fun activities.
