Eulalia “Alie” M. Rueckert

Eulalia “Alie” M. Rueckert, 87, of Suring, passed away at home Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born to the late John and Anna (Otradovec) Lanser and married to Llewellynn “Buddy” W. Rueckert. She worked at Elliot Glove Factory until retirement. Alie was a wonderful wife and loving mother who helped her children whenever needed. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, bowling well into her 80s, dancing especially the jitterbug, reading, attending country music festivals, staying physically active and meeting friends out. Alie was an amazing knitter (especially of sweaters) who enjoyed teaching others. Alie and Buddy were fortunate to travel including to several countries. She was an amazing cook who prepared wonderful traditional meals for her family every holiday. Alie is survived by her husband, Llewellynn; four children, Dale (Kathy), Terry (Connie), Jackie (Shawn), and Wendy (Rich); eight grandchildren, Brian, Luke (Ashley), Joel, Chad (Nina), Leah (Dan), Travis (Eylem), Josh, and Alyssa; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Suzy and Stan; one brother, Cyril; five sisters-in-law, Janice, Jane, Mary, Clarabelle, and Erva Mae; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Alie was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ervin and Anna Rueckert; three brothers, Matthias, Anthony, and Dennis; two sisters, Melanie and Odile; five brothers-in-law, Gaylord, Robert, Victor, Charlie, and Art; and three sisters-in-law, Joan, Mary and Mabel. The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for helping with the care of Alie, especially Ashley, Leah, Tammy and Cheryl. A private memorial service will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home.
