Ethel E. Roloff

Ethel E. (Kroenke) Roloff, 92, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at The Cottages in Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past year. Ethel was born March 26, 1923, in the town of Richmond, Shawano County, the daughter of the late Gust and Clara (Erdman) Kroenke. She attended the Red River grade school, and later Shawano High School, graduating with the Class of 1940. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Elmer Roloff at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill. The couple moved to Red River after their marriage, where they lived for 32 years. Following the death of her husband, Elmer, in 1978, Ethel moved to Shawano. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Evergreen Care Center before retiring after 20 years of service. Following her retirement, Ethel enjoyed going on bus tours, taking exercise classes at the Civic Center and volunteering at the L.C.F.S. Thrift Store. Ethel was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill and a member of the St. Paul Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Ethel is survived by her two sons, Kent (Carol) Roloff, of Waupaca, and Kip Roloff, of Hurricane, Utah; four grandchildren, Amy (Don) Lemkuil, Dane (fiance, Tyler Ninham) Roloff, Dylan and Nathan Roloff; three great- grandchildren, Andrea, Erin and Nate Lemkuil. She is further survived by one sister, Carole (Lyle) Swenson, of Minneapolis; three sisters in-law, Verna (Don) Raddant, Elnora and Sylvia Roloff; and nieces and nephews. Ethel was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Kroenke, Norma Kroenke and Doris Zimmermann; and four brothers, Marvin, Wilbert, Roy and Orvis Kroenke. Funeral services for Ethel Roloff will be held on Thursday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill. Pastor John Eyer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial has been established in her name for the organ fund at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Stony Hill.
