Elizabeth Jane Groh, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021. She was born July 26, 1930, to the late John and Frieda (Welch) Doxtator in Stockbridge. Elizabeth was a proud member of the Stockbridge-Munsee Tribe. She graduated from Stockbridge High School in 1949. Elizabeth went to Fond du Lac College in Fond du Lac. In 1952, she was united in marriage to Marvin Gerber until his passing. In 1997, Elizabeth found love again with Robert Groh and was married until his passing.
She is survived by her children, Leland Gerber, Nancy Lausted, Sharon (Terrence) Ow, Daniel Gerber and Rick Gerber; grandchildren, Kyle Hendrickson, Ricky Gerber, Ed Gerber and Grace Ow; and sister, Lulu Mattson.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by both her husbands, Marvin Gerber and Robert Groh; daughter, Christine Phelps; and brother and sisters, Jerome Doxtator, Elaine Raddatz, Lorraine VanDeraa and one sister in infancy.
A funeral service for Elizabeth was held at the Swedberg Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, with Deacon Todd Raether officiating. Burial took place at the Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds in Stockbridge.
