Elaine Ann Klitz, 91, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at Markesan Resident Home.
Elaine was born on Jan. 17, 1933, in Portage, the daughter of William and Viola (Baumann) Meyer. She grew up in Shawano and graduated from Shawano High School.
She was united in marriage to Donald Klitz on July 14, 1951, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived in Greendale for 40 years where Elaine worked at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church as the church secretary. The couple retired and moved to Pella, where Elaine enjoyed working at all the town elections as a poll worker. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and following the Packers, Bucks and Brewers.
Elaine is survived by her son, Donald Jeffrey (Carol) Klitz; three grandchildren, Ann (Matthew) Hockett of Stevens Point, William (Kevin) Klitz of Washington, D.C., and Donald Lucas (McKenzie) Klitz of New Richmond; four great-grandchildren, Braxton Hockett, Braelynn Hockett, Remi Louise Klitz and Winnie Jo Klitz; sister, Diane (Wayne) Krueger, of Neenah; brother, David (Pili) Meyer, of Port Angeles, Washington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and great friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; brothers, Ralph Meyer and Merwyn Meyer; in-laws, Ruben and Beatrice Klitz, Roland and Florence Klitz, Lucille and Vern McKenna, Lorraine Meyer, Patti Meyer and Vilas Klitz; and other relatives.
In honoring Elaine’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
