Dorothy May Luebke, 88, Gillett, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. She was born on May 11, 1925, to the late Charles and Hilda (Bourassa) Loberger, of Oconto.
Dorothy married Carl H. Luebke in August 1946 in Oconto. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1984.
Dorothy taught elementary school 30-plus years. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, NORTA, WREA and volunteered at the Oconto Falls Hospital. She was a faithful member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Gillett, where she served on the altar society and served as a Eucharistic minister.
Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and friends. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to visit the casinos, travel, play cards, bowl and winter in Florida.
Dorothy will be missed by her three sons, two daughters and their families: Tom (Sharon) Luebke and their children, Joshua (Sierra) and Jessica; Michael (Susan) Luebke and their children, David (Kimiko) Luebke and Ryan (Anita) Luebke; David (Heidi) Luebke and their children, Hans and Bjorn; Susan (Roger) Johnson and their children, Lisa (Michael) Cronan, Matthew Johnson and Monica (James) Quinn; Mary (Louis) Bahrke and their children, Craig (Michelle) Bahrke and Carrie (Brian) Bartel. She will also be greatly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Ruth (Rollyn) Radke; a brother, Jim (Bev) Loberger; sisters-in-law, Jan and Darlene Loberger; a brother-in-law, Gene Behringer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her baby sister, Mary; brothers, Lee, Richard and Paul Loberger; a sister, Margaret Behringer; her in-laws, Arthur, William, Ken (Evelyn) and Evelyn Luebke, Grace (Paul) Widebrook, and Ruth (Lloyd) Pastel; two nephews and niece; and special friend, Marvin Eschner.
Friends called at Kuehl Funeral Home, Gillett, on Friday, Nov. 15, and at St. John’s Catholic Church in Gillett on Saturday, Nov. 16. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, with burial at Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery, Gillett.
