Doris F. Erb, 75, of Suring, passed away on Dec. 23, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 5, 1946, to the late Harvey and Myrtle (McDonough) Millard. Doris graduated from Delevan-Darien High School with the Class of 1964 and went on to attended University of Wisconsin-La Crosse where she earned her teaching degree. She taught at Sheboygan South High School for 10 years before attending Lakeshore Technical College for equestrian training. Doris worked as a trainer for a few years before meeting the love of her life, William Erb. On May 19, 1984, Doris and William married. They lived in the southern part of the state for many years where Doris worked as a substitute teacher at a number of schools. She also worked with children with autism. In 2011, Doris and William moved to Suring. Doris was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes and also served as the president of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League for Zone 13.
Doris is survived by her husband, William Erb; daughter, Brigett (John Oberg); son, Kevin (Jennifer) Erb; grandchildren, Keith, Austin (Rylee), and Brianna Manecke, Olivia, Emily and Collin Erb; siblings, Roger (Dawn) Millard, Wally (Eileen) Millard, and Gladys (Carl) Schneider. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jeremiah Millard; and her beloved horse, Snowbird.
Visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Hayes on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Nick Buchholz officiating. Doris will be interred in Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Hintz. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is in charge of funeral arrangements.
