David E. Kohn Sr.

David E. Kohn Sr., 72, Tigerton, died on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at his home. He was born on May 28, 1943, in Shawano, the son of the late Ervin and Frieda (Ploeger) Kohn. On June 28, 1970, David was united in marriage to Lauretta Miller in Wittenberg. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2006. David was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed at the Tigerton Lumber Company for many years until his retirement. David enjoyed hunting, fishing and an occasional trip to the casino. He loved sitting on his deck while watching the deer and turkeys. He also enjoyed old Western television shows and Sunday morning polkas. Most important to David was the time he spent with his family. Survivors include a daughter, Sandy (Mike Baker) Erickson; two sons, Scott (Amy Jaeger) Kohn and David Kohn Jr.; granddaughters, Caytlin Kohn, Aleyna Kohn, Makayla Jaeger and Aleeshya Jaeger; grandsons, Maximus Kohn and Cian Jaeger; and one sister, Marion (Ed) Hull. David was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister, Judy Hirt; and two brothers, Allan and Jay. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.
