College Notes

Ripon College Caitlin Carpenter, of Clintonville, graduated from Ripon College during the 2019-2020 academic year and majored in business management and exercise science-sports management. Her parents are Steve and Connie Carpenter, of Clintonville. Carpenter graduated in the class of 2020 from Ripon College. Upper Iowa University Upper Iowa University is pleased to announce its August 2020 graduates. The honored students included Dawn Chuilli, of Wittenberg, Bachelor of Science in public administration; and Veronica Liriano, of Pulaski, Bachelor of Science in psychology. UW-Whitewater Samantha Huggins, of Clintonville, who is studying journalism and English at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was recognized at the 2020 Best of the Midwest Media Fest. The event, held virtually Oct. 8, honors broadcasting and video production excellence from Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota and North Dakota. UW-Whitewater students have participated in this conference for the past five years and have won many awards. This year, the group received five first-place awards, two second-place awards and for the fifth consecutive year, a best in show honor. Huggins won first place for “Warhawk Men’s Basketball vs. Viterbo.”
