Carol Jean Kesler-Marois was welcomed into heaven on June 15, 2015, at her home in Oconto Falls. She was born to Irvin and Virginia (McMunn) Kesler on Dec. 27, 1949, in Appleton. She was her mother’s Christmas Carol.
She married James Marois on April 26, 1974, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton.
Carol had numerous jobs over the years, most recently as assistant director of religious education at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, where she was also a member. Carol loved to play cards with her friends Laura and Jerry. She loved to help others and make blankets for the people in the nursing homes. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband of 41 years, James; her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jonathan Hanson, of Oconto Falls; her “special” children, Jill and Dustin Watts, of Oconto Falls, and Kurt Hujet, of Oconto; her grandchildren, Faith and Hope Hujet and Mary Grace and Jonathan Watts; her brothers and sisters, Roger Kesler, of Pound, Dennis (Barbara) Kesler, of Chilton, Joyce (Dan) School, of Brillion, Virginia (Harland) Wincentsen, of Oconto Falls, Karen (Joe) Franczek, of Hilbert, Donald (Diane) Kesler, of Appleton, Duane Kesler, of Hilbert, Janice (Bernard) Schmidt, of New Holstein, Robert (Lucy) Kesler, of Appleton, and Dean Kesler, of Madison; and a brother-in-law, Paul Ruhland, of Kaukauna.
She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, including special nieces Tammy (Todd) Barrows, Kristin (Randy) Bushman and Heidi Kesler; special friends, Sande (Richard) Steiner, Lynn Beaumeir, Laura Robinson, Jerry Hujet, Nancy Kroiss, Linda Schneider, Dawn Cootware; and “grown-up granddaughter” Lindsay Larrabee.
Carol was welcomed into heaven by her son, Bryan; her sister, Dianne; her brother, Carl; and her parents.
Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. A memorial Mass followed at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Robert Karuhn officiated. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery in Lena.
