‘Book club favorite’ to be discussed

The Lunch Hour Book Discussion Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, in the meeting room at the Oconto Falls Community Library. Anyone who enjoys reading and discussing books and learning what others are reading is welcome to attend. Participants may bring a bag lunch. “The Gravity of Birds” by first-time author Tracey Guzman will be discussed. A review from the San Francisco Chronicle on Amazon reads: “A debut novel already destined to be a book club favorite.” While at their summer home over a period of years, teenage sisters Alice and Natalie Kessler see artist Tom Baylor, who lives next door and is considerably older than them. Forty-four years later, the artist, who is now a recluse, contacts an art history professor and an art authenticator about one of his paintings, showing himself and the two sisters. The painting is apparently the center panel of a three-part painting. Baylor wants the two men to sell the painting, but asks them to locate the two sisters as a condition of the sale.
