Barbara J. Scheinert

Barbara J. “Bobbie” Scheinert passed away at Maple Lane Health Center in Shawano on Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, at the age of 88 years. She was born on Jan. 13, 1927, to the late Aretus and Viola (Dupuis) Miller in Niagara. Bobbie graduated from Marinette High School in 1944. Following graduation from high school, she was employed at Ansul in Marinette. On May 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Russell H. Scheinert, who preceded her in death on June 3, 1981. Other employment had been as an office manager with the family business, R.H. Scheinert Plumbing and Heating. In later years she was employed as a nursing assistant at Pine View Health Center in Peshtigo, until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, and watching the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers football games. She also had a special fondness for animals. The couple had two sons, Peter R. (Susan) Scheinert, of Shawano, and Paul M. Scheinert, of Marinette; special friend, Art Scherer; granddaughter, Heidi (Chad) Scheinert, of Waukechon; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph P. and Gracie C., all of Bonduel. She is further survived by a cousin, Nan “Chickie” Franzoi, of Iron Mountain, Michigan; a nephew, Michael Kehoe, of Kenosha; nieces, Kathleen (Jim) Walker, of Reedville, Virginia, Margaret (Earl) Krueger and Patricia (David) Wiskow, both of Green Bay; additionally Thomas (Kate) Reinke, of Brevard, North Carolina, Jane Reinke, of Huntington Beach, California, and Daniel (Patricia) Reinke, of Stillwater, Minnesota; and other great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Russell, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Kehoe and Ruth Reinke, and a cousin, Jim O’Grady. Private funeral services will be held for the family with interment at Niagara Cemetery in Niagara. The Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The family extends a thank you to Maple Lane Health Center and a special thank you to the staff of Maple View for the care given to her. Memorial funds have been established for Shawano Cares About Critters, c/o Covantage Credit Union, 911 E. Green Bay St., Shawano, WI 54166, and Menominee Animal Shelter, N184 Haggerson Court, Menominee, Michigan, in her memory.
