Archie Russell

Archie Albert Russell, 89, of Lake Alfred, Florida, passed away on Sept. 11, 2024. He was born in the Town of Red Springs on Jan. 8, 1935, to the late Arthur and Josephine (Schreiber) Russell. Archie served in the Air Force with time served in Korea. Throughout his life, he was a mechanic, farmer and truck driver among other things, but most of all, he loved farming. Once he retired, Archie moved to Florida. Archie is survived by his son, David Russell; son, Rick (Kathy) Russell; daughter, Jean (Randy) Zikan; daughter, Lisa (Don) Elertson; daughter, Kelly (Jeremy) Edwards; son, Jason Russell; and son-in-law, Jeff Dufek; along with his grandchildren, Ryan (Sara) Russell, Cory (Kristi) Russell, Sara (Charlie) Lemerande, Kirk Brandt, Eric (Melinda) Brandt, Cortney Elertson, Jordan (Krista) Elertson, Joshua Hille, Danielle Hille, Lindsay (John) VanHout, Kiley Dufek, Kyle (Kendra) Lake and Shelby Schider. He also leaves behind his 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene (Gerald) Hansen; as well as his in-laws, Leon (Debbie) Powell, Keith Powell and Val (Tom) Monsour. Archie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan; daughter, Jody Dufek; brother, Lawrence, and his wife, Leona; sister, Angeline (Leo) Samp; sister, Irene Meyer; a brother in infancy; sister-in-law, Carol (Bill) Hoffmann; sister-in-law, Connie Purpura; and brother-in-law, DuWayne Powell. A graveside service will be held on Oct. 5, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano, at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch to follow at the American Legion located at 850 S. Lincoln St. in Shawano.
