Anthony “Tony” Janiak, 77, Oconto Falls, died Wednesday morning, April 24, 2024. at home.
He was born July 24, 1946, in West Allis to Henry “Fritz” and Joyce (Newstrom) Janiak. The family lived in Amberg before moving to Abrams where Tony attended Oconto Falls public schools, graduating with the class of 1964.
Tony lived in Abrams for most of his life where he lived on the family farm and began a long career as a semi-truck driver.
On Nov. 7, 1998, he married Gayle Fabry in Pulaski. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Oconto Falls where Tony was employed at Pioneer Metal Finishing in Green Bay for over 25 years. He was a member of Kingdom Hall in Oconto Falls.
Survivors are his devoted wife of 25 years, Gayle Janiak; their children, Todd Janiak, Troy (Kristy) Janiak, Toni Rae Lang, Teri (Matt) Athey, Tami (Dick) Hallam, Pam (husband, Mark Schliawski) Anderson and Laura Anderson; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three siblings, Lynn Landreth, Ralph (Annette Schlotman) Janiak and Annette Bitter; one sister-in-law, Christine Janiak; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tami Janiak; one brother, Michael; one brother-in-law, Ken Bitter; and sister-in-law, Janice Janiak.
Visitation with urn present to be held after 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Kingdom Hall in Oconto Falls until memorial services at 1 p.m. Saturday with his friend, Brother Howard Christensen, presiding. Burial will take place at a later date in Hickory Cemetery, Town of Maple Valley.
