Alvin Carl Krueger

Alvin Carl Krueger, 94, of Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. He was born on Nov. 15, 1920, in Oconto Falls to the late Julius and Amalia (Reinert) Krueger. Al graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the Class of 1939. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the 431st Bomb Squad at Pearl Harbor and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on Dec. 1, 1941. He also served in the Central Pacific, New Guinea, Northern Solomon, Western Bismarck and Southern Philippines. Al was a member of VFW Post No. 7534 in Duck Creek. Al married the love of his life, Kathleen Grunst, on June 13, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa. They loved traveling the world together until Kay passed away on March 3, 1984. Al’s last years were spent at the King Veteran’s Home. Survivors include his brothers, Ken (Gloria) and Rodney Krueger, and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; his parents, Julius and Amalia; and brother, Arthur (Eileen) Krueger. Per Al’s request, a graveside service was celebrated with full military honors at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 8023 State Highway 22, Oconto Falls.
