Allen “Albert” P. Osterbrink, 70, of Eland, passed away on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at home, under the care of his family and St. Croix Hospice, after a long battle with cancer.
Allen was born on Aug. 25, 1954, in Wausau, the son of Philip and Adalyne (Houf) Osterbrink.
On Sept. 22, 1984, Allen was united in marriage to Marnie A. Wallner at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild.
Allen worked at Kolbe & Kolbe as a moulder operator until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and throwing horseshoes. Allen had a strong faith and was very involved at Zion Lutheran Church in Eland, serving as an usher and participating in Bible study. He always had a dad joke or pun locked and loaded, and he loved making people laugh.
Allen was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee Brewers, and he attended several games with his son, Henry. He and Henry had an annual tradition of spending opening day of the Brewers season together, which included “Holly Burgers” and back scratches. Most importantly, he always cherished time spent with his kids and grandkids and looked forward to family gatherings.
Allen is survived by his wife, Marnie; children, Henry (Holly) Osterbrink of Stevens Point and Sara (Emily) Savage of Fort Wayne, Indiana; three grandchildren, Simon Flees (Aleeyah), Nora and Rupert Osterbrink; siblings, Shirley Bremer of Wausau, Lois (Michael) Wichlacz of Danbury, Glen Osterbrink of Stevens Point, and Katie Osterbrink (Alan Leonhardt) of Stevens Point; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Karen Steger; sister-in-law, Kelly Koplitz; brother-in-law, Rick Koplitz, as well as cousins, other relatives and friends.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and special family member, Terry Dombrowski.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church, Eland. Pastor Matthew Christians will preside. Burial will be in Eland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4-7 p.m. at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg, and again on Saturday at the church, from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
