Agnes Onesti, 92, Wittenberg, died Monday, July 8, 2013, surrounded by her family at her home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services, Wausau. She was born May 14, 1921, in the town of Rosendale, Fond du Lac County, the daughter of the late Frederick and Clara (Wegner) Pietz. On Dec. 30, 1939, Agnes was united in marriage to William “Bill” Onesti at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. He preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1993. Agnes was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton, and its Christian Mothers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, bird watching, playing cards and reading. She was always ready with a helping hand. Survivors include her children, Lonna (Gerald) Kluck, David (Leone) Onesti, Janifer (Anthony) Empereur, Patricia (Jay) Schaffer, Veronica (Brad) Grunniwaldt, Mark (Pamela) Onesti, Andrea (Christopher) Gunderson and Valerie Kulas; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Nellie Kessen. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Agnes was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeffrey Kulas, and seven brothers and three sisters. A Mass of Christian B urial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Tigerton. The Rev. Patrick Lloyd will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg, and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
