Aaron Joel Wendler, 40, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021. Aaron was born on Feb. 23, 1981, in Wausau to Joe and Sue (Heidersdorf) Wendler. Aaron lived in Wittenberg until he and his mother moved to Ontonagon, Michigan. Aaron graduated from the Ontonagon Area High School in 1999. While in school Aaron excelled in basketball and went to the state basketball playoff in his senior year. He loved sports of any kind, hiking, camping, watching UFC Fights, and most importantly spending time with his three boys who were his world.
Aaron moved to Oshkosh in 2001. He worked for Pacur Plastic Manufacturing for over 17 years.
Aaron is survived by his three sons, Alek (Katie) Wendler of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Kaleb (Kabrea) Wendler of Oshkosh, and Isaac Wendler of Oshkosh, his father Joe (Shannon) Wendler of Wittenberg, his mother Sue Lockhart of Ontonagon, Michigan, his brother John (Georice) Lockhart of Oshkosh, and his only nephew John Lockhart III. Aaron short of being a dad was next proudest of being an uncle. He is further survived by his special friends Gary, Robert and Brianna along with a numerous number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Roland and Jane Wendler and his stepfather John Lockhart whom he had an extremely close relationship with.
At Aaron’s request there will be no funeral. Aaron’s life was celebrated in Ontonagon, Michigan, on Dec. 19, 2021, with his lifelong friends and family. An additional Celebration of Life for Aaron’s friends and co-workers was held on Dec. 26, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 at Jabroni’s in Oshkosh.
