Wittenberg-Birnamwood 71, Pacelli 69
Wittenberg-Birnamwood hung on to defeat Pacelli 71-69 in a nonconference game.
The Chargers led 32-26 at halftime, but the Cardinals fought back to force a 62-62 tie. Luckily for the Chargers, a few key baskets down the stretch preserved the win.
“Tonight was about finding a way to win,” coach Nick Mechelke said. “We lost our halftime lead and got down four by with around three minutes left. We just held our composure and made plays at the end of the game and found a way to win.”
Melaina Granquist led Wittenberg-Birnamwood with 29 points. Rory Salvesen added 16 points, and Harper Rogowski scored 11.
