Three area boys hockey teams come up short

Sheboygan 6, Bay Area 3

Bay Area skaters had a flurry of 46 shots on goal against Sheboygan but ended up on the short end of a 6-3 final score.

Already down 4-0 late in the second period, the Storm finally connected on a goal from Cash Ebeling with Brody Hronek assisting.

The Red Raiders scored again in the second period and then in the third to take a 6-1 lead.

Bay Area’s Henry Laurent scored at 2:09 with Conner Viau and Jack Froelich assisting. Ebeling scored again at 6:28.

Justin Pintar had 18 saves for the Storm against 24 shots on goal. Sheboygan’s Will Hollingsworth collected 43 saves.

Bay Area was penalized five times for 10 minutes, while Sheboygan was penalized four times for eight minutes.

Monday, Jan. 12

Sheboygan 3, Shawano 1

The Hawks dropped their third game in a row and fourth of their last five in a 3-1 loss to Sheboygan.

Shawano/Bonduel got off to a quick start with Gavin Hundt scoring just 17 seconds into the game with Blake Swedberg assisting. From there, the sticks went quiet.

The Red Raiders tied the game in the second period and added two goals in the third to earn the win.

Shawano/Bonduel’s Tyson Lyons earned 37 saves against 40 shots on goal. For Sheboygan, Cooper Parisien had 14 saves against 15 shots on goal.

The Hawks were penalized four times for eight minutes. The Red Raiders spent six minutes in the penalty box for three infractions.

Tomahawk 8, Antigo 0

Tomahawk skaters outshot Antigo 71-14, which resulted in an 8-0 shutout win for the Hatchets.

Tomahawk scored once in the first period, twice in the second and five times in the third.

Antigo goalie Austin Martinson had 63 saves. Tomahawk goalie Hudson Seymour had 14.

The Hatchets were penalized twice for four minutes. The Red Robins were called for five penalties and served 10 minutes.
