Shawano hockey beats Pacelli 8-1

Pacelli scored first at the Crawford Center in Shawano, but that was all they had as the Hawks went on to score eight times to notch an 8-1 win.

Gavin Hundt collected a hat trick, and Cameron Schroeder had two goals for Shawano/Bonduel. Michael Dillenburg, Teagan Harkey and Jeremy Helmuth also scored for the Hawks.

Hundt tied the game at 1-1 at 14:20 in the first period, with Schroeder and Blake Swedberg assisting.

Hundt scored the go-ahead goal unassisted at 11:42 in the second period. Schroeder scored unassisted at 12:47, and Dillenburg scored unassisted at 15:12. Hundt scored his third goal at 16:12 with Quinten Harkey assisting.

In the third period, Teagan Harkey scored at 2:33 with help from Wyatt Schroeder. Cameron Schroeder scored at 6:50; Hundt assisted. Helmuth scored at 16:%7 with help from Landon Vickery.

Shawano/Bonduel was penalized four times for eight minutes. Stevens Point Pacelli had no infractions.

Hawks goalie Tyson Lyons had 18 saves against 19 shots on goal, and Kaiden Thornborrow had nine saves against nine shots. Cardinals goalie Aiden Olds had 42 saves against 50 shots on goal.

Antigo 6, Medford 5 (OT)

Liam Burt scored Antigo’s winning goal with Ethan Novy assisting just 47 seconds into overtime to snatch the 6-5 win from Medford.

The scoring began at 1:37 into the first period on a goal by Novy. Medford scored the next two, but Carson Rhode scored at 10:42 to tie the game at 2-2. Novy and Burt assisted.

Medford scored twice in the second period to lead 4-2 before Antigo’s Billy Portman scored with a Novy assist at 6:15.

Antigo tied the game at 4-4 at 0:20 in the third period on a Burt goal with Rhode helping. The Red Robins took the lead at 1:32 on a goal from Alex Brittenham and a Novy assist.

Medford tied the game at 5-5 at 4:04, and it stayed that way until the buzzer that sent the game into overtime.

Red Robins goalie Austin Martinson collected 23 saves against 28 shots on goal. Raiders goalie Jaxston Malzahn had 36 saves against 42 shots.

Antigo had one penalty for two minutes, while Medford was called for five penalties for 10 minutes.

Monday, Feb. 2

Shawano 6, Wausau East-Merrill 3

Five players scored six goals for Shawano/Bonduel as the Hawks defeated the Wausau East-Merrill United 6-3.

Trailing 2-1 after one period, the Hawks scored the next four goals to lead 5-2 halfway through the third period. Each team scored one goal after that point.

United scored first, followed by a goal by Gavin Hundt at 10:47. United scored again for a 2-1 lead.

In the second period, Cameron Schroeder scored at 7:49 with help from Hundt and Bryce Lammers. At 15:52, Jeremy Helmuth scored with Quinten Harkey assisting.

Michael Dillenburg scored at 1:57 in the third period with help from Hundt and Schroeder. Shawano/Bonduel went up 5-2 at 9:02 on a goal by Schroeder and an assist from Hundt.

United scored its final goal, which was answered by Blake Swedberg with an assist from Dillenburg.

In the net, Shawano/Bonduel’s Tyson Lyons made 29 saves against 32 shots on goal. United’s Tony Stricklin had 15 saves against 21 shots.

The Hawks had four penalties for eight minutes, and United had two infractions for seven minutes.

Marshfield 6, Antigo 1

Marshfield scored all of its goals before Antigo scored its one and only goal in a 6-1 win for the Tigers.

Ethan Novy scored the goal for the Red Robins at 14:00 in the third period.

Red Robins goalie Austin Martinson was busy with 48 saves on 54 shots on goal. Tigers goalie Neil Mullins had nine saves against 10 shots.

Antigo was called for two penalties for four minutes, and Marshfield was called for three infractions for six minutes.
