SCMS band performs at capitol rotunda

The Shawano Community Middle School Band traveled down to the state capitol in Madison and filled it with sound during their free performance in the rotunda on March 24. The band, under the direction of Chad Bromeisl, performed in this year’s Wisconsin Music Educators Association Capitol Concerts series. Shawano School District Superintendent Randi Anderson noted that this was the first time the SCMS band was invited to perform at the rotunda. “It was a huge honor, and they were absolutely amazing,” Anderson said. “I had the opportunity to attend as a mom, and it was wonderful.” Anderson added that many in attendance told Bromeisl how well behaved the students were and also “how awesome they sounded.” The capitol concerts featured performances by students from schools throughout Wisconsin to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month. The events highlighted the importance of music education in schools across the nation by offering local students the opportunity to perform in the state capitol.
