Wausau West Invite
Pulaski’s girls tennis team defeated Shawano 7-0 among its several wins in Wausau.
The closest match came at No. 2 singles when Emory Groteluschen defeated Jaelyn Hietpas 6-3, 4-6, 10-4.
At No. 3 singles, Elizabeth Dornfeld beat Kendall Knope 6-2, 6-3. Shutouts were recorded at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, with Ruth Krause topping Ireland Setterman 6-0, 6-0, and Maya Schneider beating Chloe Gilling 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
In doubles play, it was Linde Lemerond and Anna Krause defeating Lana Owens and Madison Miller 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1; Ayla Groteluschen and Gretchen Rottier defeating Vivian Castro and Ruby Onesti 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2; and Aubrey Cole and Riley Hartman beating Danielle Carroll and Gabrielle Gumieny 6-0, 6-3 at No. 3.
The Red Raiders shut out Wausau East 7-0.
Winning at singles were Ruth Krause, Groteluschen, Dornfeld and Cole.
Doubles wins were notched by Lemerond and Anne Krause, Ayla Groteluschen and Gretchen Rottier, and Schneider and Chloe Koller.
Pulaski also beat D.C. Everest 4-3.
Ruth Krause again won at No. 1 singles, and Dornfeld won at No. 4.
Doubles victories were recorded by Lemerond and Ayla Groteluschen at No. 1, and Rottier and Schneider at No. 2.
Pulaski edged Eau Claire North 4-3.
Ruth Krause triumphed over Lucy Brott 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Koller won in the No. 4 slot, winning by default.
Lemerond and Ayla Groteluschen pulled out a win at No. 1 doubles with scores of 4-6, 7-5, 10-5.
Rottier and Dornfeld won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.
Cole and Hartman were close but lost at No. 3. The scores were 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 in favor of Eau Claire North.
Against Wausau West, Pulaski came up short, losing 4-3.
Ruth Krause had the only singles win for Pulaski, defeating Mallory Smogoleski 6-2, 6-0, in the No. 1 slot.
Lemerond and Ayla Groteluschen won at No. 1 doubles, and Schneider and Rottier were victorious at No. 2 doubles.
Pulaski lost 6-1 to Stevens Point, with the only win coming from Ruth Krause at No. 1 singles. She beat Lily Meeks 7-6 (5) , 6-0.
Rhinelander defeated Shawano 5-2.
