Xavier 57, Shawano 51
With a major milestone in her sights, Shawano’s Leah Nordin entered the Jan. 9 home game against Xavier just 11 points shy of 2,000 career points.
A layup in the game put the UW-bound senior in the record books.
Nordin credits her teammates for helping her get to this point, saying the milestone is a reflection of the trust and chemistry shared on the court. She says her success comes from teammates putting her in the right positions and feeding off their energy while continuing to focus on winning games.
Unfortunately, Shawano as a team ended up on the short end of a 57-51 final score.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 88, Iola-Scandinavia 37

“It was nice getting back on the floor after 18 days,” coach Nick Mechelke said. “We came out well tonight and got a big lead.”
Rory Salvesen led the Chargers with 27 points, and Melaina Granquist added 21. Harper Rogowski scored another 15 points, and Ava Brei had 10.
