Pulaski, Bonduel and Suring’s football teams opened their seasons Aug. 21 with convincing wins.
Pulaski topped Appleton East 47-7, Bonduel handed Wittenberg-Birnamwood a 36-7, loss and Suring returned from Almond with a 47-6 win over Almond-Bancroft.
Meanwhile, Shawano and Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas came up short against Wausau East and Laona/Wabeno, respectively.
Pulaski 47, Appleton East 7
The Red Raiders found the end zone three times in the first quarter, led 33-0 at halftime and outscored the Patriots 14-7 in the second half.
Pulaski scored in the first quarter on Anthony Ficarri’s 5-yard run and 6- and 4-yard runs from Bohdan Schmidt.
Ficarri added 5- and 3-yard touchdown runs in the second quarter and also converted a two-point conversion.
He capped his four-touchdown night with a 7-yard run in the third quarter and a 15-yard run in the final period and ended up with 180 rushing yards on 30 carries.
Schmidt added 85 yards on the ground and also completed three of six passes for 38 yards, while Braun Wotruba intercepted a pair of Appleton East passes.
The Red Raiders finished with 290 rushing yards.
Bonduel 36, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 7
Bonduel opened the 2025 season with a 33-13 loss to Wittenberg-Birnamwood, but the Bears dominated the Chargers in the rematch behind four touchdowns from Malachi Gray.
Gray scored on runs of 52 yards in the first quarter and on runs of 45 and 4 yards in the second quarter that helped the Bears build a 21-0 halftime lead.
His fourth score came on a 3-yard run in the third quarter before Carter Moesch wrapped up the scoring for Bonduel later in the quarter with a 66-yard run.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s touchdown came in the fourth quarter on Bo Davis’ 14-yard pass to Max Kasprak.
Suring 47, Almond-Bancroft 6
The battle of the Eagles went to Suring, as the team headed to Almond and returned home with a 41-point win in a nonconference matchup of 8-player teams.

Wausau East 28, Shawano 0
The Lumberjacks came up with a touchdown in each quarter while holding the Hawks scoreless.
Cash Ryan Seefeldt had rushing touchdowns of 1 and 2 yards in the first half, and Camdyn Rye added a pair of scoring passes in the second half.
He connected with Aiden Kilde for a 14-yard pass in the third quarter and an 18-yarder to Henry Maahs in the fourth quarter.
Laona/Wabeno 12, Lena/STAA 6
Lena/STAA eliminated the Rebels from the state 8-player playoffs last year, but came up short against them in Wabeno.
