University of Alabama
Three area students were named to the University of Alabama dean’s list and president’s list for spring semester 2025.
Students named to the president’s list earned straight A’s for the semester. Students named to the dean’s list had a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Honored students were Shawano’s Hannah Seehafer, president’s list; Lena’s Hailey Peitersen, president’s list; and Abrams’ Braden Vandermoss, dean’s list.
Minnesota State College Southeast
Shawano’s Jillian Black was named to the Minnesota State College Southeast president’s list for spring semester 2025.
To be eligible, students must complete a minimum of 12 letter-graded credits during an academic term and achieve a GPA of 3.5 or better.
University of Dubuque
Riley Engebretsen, of Gillett, was named to the spring semester 2025 academic dean’s list at University of Dubuque in Iowa.
Full-time students in good academic standing (registered for and having earned 12 or more letter grade credits for the term) who earn a term GPA of 3.5 or above and who do not have any grades of incomplete for the term are named to the dean’s list.
Wisconsin Lutheran College
Several local students were named to Wisconsin Lutheran College dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester. To be eligible, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.6 or higher.
Connor Heezen, of Pulaski, a senior, is a graduate of Pulaski High School.
Kara Troxel, of Pulaski, a senior, is a graduate of Bonduel High School.
Brynn Hodkiewicz, of Lena, a sophomore, is a graduate of Oconto Falls High School.
University of Dubuque
Gillett’s Riley Engebretsen graduated from University of Dubuque in Iowa in May. With magna cum laude honors, Engebretsen earned a bachelor of arts degree and a bachelor of science degree.
UW-Whitewater
Several local students have made the UW-Whitewater dean’s list for the 2025 spring semester.
These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a GPA of 3.4 or above in a single semester.

UW-Madison
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has awarded 101 Hilldale Undergraduate/Faculty Research Fellowships and four Holstrom Environmental Research Fellowships.
Both fellowships give junior and senior students the opportunity to undertake their own research project in collaboration with UW-Madison faculty or staff. Undergraduates receive $4,000 and their faculty or staff adviser receives $1,000.
Bowler’s Jalynn Horacek, an environmental engineering major, received a Holstrom Environmental Research Fellowship.
Ripon College
Ripon College has announced its dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester, recognizing academic excellence. To qualify, students must achieve a 3.40 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale and complete at least 12 credits of regular letter-graded work.
Recognized were Lauren Bahr of Wittenberg, Gabriella Bukoski of Shawano, Carly Stefl of Shawano, Hailey Krueger of Townsend and Angela Mosconi of Gillett.
UW-Superior
Taylor Powell, of Shawano, and Erica Beilke, of Wittenberg, have been named to the UW-Superior dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester.
To be named to the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 degree-seeking semester credits and achieved at least a 3.5 GPA.
Western Technical College
Western Technical College in La Crosse announced the names of the fall 2024 and spring 2025 graduates. They include Devin Vincent of Pulaski, an IT, web and software developer; and Rebecca Charles of Shawano, a leadership development major.
Northern Michigan University
The Northern Michigan University dean’s list for the winter 2025 semester includes Abi Fraaza of Birnamwood, who qualified with a 4.00 GPA, and Tyler Dent and Michaela Gleason, both of Tigerton, who qualified with GPAs of 3.50 to 3.99.
UW-Stevens Point
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,400 undergraduate students for attaining high GPAs during the spring semester of the 2024-25 academic year.
Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75-3.89, and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50-3.74.

University of Alabama
University of Alabama student Hailey Peitersen of Lena is participating in UA’s Cooperative Education Program during the summer 2025 semester. Peitersen is working for ONEOK (formerly Medallion Midstream).
In the program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student.
While in school, students carry regular course schedules.While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.
Milwaukee School of Engineering
Ira Rudesill, from Tigerton, was named to the Milwaukee School of Engineering dean’s list for the 2025 spring semester. Rudesill is pursuing a bachelor of science in industrial engineering.
Vincent Vassallo of Gillett was also named to the MSOE dean’s list. Vassallo is pursuing a bachelor of science in computer engineering.
Students taking undergraduate courses who have earned at least 12 credits in residence at MSOE, are in good academic standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher are on the dean’s list.
