Jeremy and Melanie Gretzinger, along with Brian Grieves, have been installed as the newest members of the Shawano Optimists Club.
Jeremy and Melanie were both born and raised in Shawano. They are proud parents of three sons, all of whom are active in Shawano schools. Landan, 18, is a senior; Keatan, 15, a freshman; and Noah, 13, an eighth grader. Jeremy is a Marine veteran of 2003 Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Melanie was a teacher in Shawano for 20 years. They started their landscaping business in 2000.
The Gretzingers do everything together, from working at their landscape and evergreen business, to attending school events, fishing, or just going for a ride. They also enjoy giving back to and working in the community.
“We are very excited to be a part of the Shawano Optimist Club and look forward to giving back to our hometown community we love so much,” Melanie said.
Brian Grieves is a Minnesota native who has lived in Shawano for the past 20 years. He is a chiropractor and his wife, Carey, a health coach at ThedaCare in Shawano.
“I’m glad to be back in the Optimist club after a 15-year hiatus while our two sons were young,” Grieves said.
The Grieves family enjoys many outdoor activities, including skiing, biking and windsurfing. Grieves is on the youth soccer board and runs a youth windsurfing program.
“I’m grateful to the Shawano Optimists for supporting these programs over the years,” Grieves said.
Shawano Optimists President Jen Schroeder said, “It’s exciting to welcome Jeremy, Melanie and Brian as members of our club. Their membership will help fellow members continue to support youth and other programs throughout the Shawano community.”
