College of Menominee Nation College of Menominee Nation student Martina Thomas has been chosen as a recipient of the Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded by American Indian College Fund (AICF) and Coca-Cola Foundation to students that are the first in their family to attend college. Thomas is a business administration major with an expected graduation date of spring 2023. She enjoys attending ceremonial events and her and her family are members of the Native American Church. Thomas has three children, which she states are her motivation for attending college. “I am very proud to be a first generation college student, a product of the American Indian movement, and attend a tribal college,” Thomas said. The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship is renewable throughout students’ college careers if they maintain a 3.0 grade point average and are active in their campus and community life.
