MISD gets $500 supply of free batteries

Batteries Plus of Green Bay has selected the Menominee Indian School District as one of its Schools of the Year. In a collaboration with Duracell/Procell, Batteries Plus will reward MISD with a $500 supply of free batteries. Through a nationwide contest, MISD schools were identified as being among the most deserving educational institutions for going above and beyond during pandemic, overcoming obstacles and making a significant difference in the lives of students and their community. MISD schools will receive Procell Constant and Procell Intense batteries – the world’s first dual brand portfolio of device-specific batteries from Procell. “The past two years have been challenging for everyone, and to have a national business like Batteries Plus step forward and do something to help schools across the country is outstanding,” said Superintendent Wendell Waukau. Batteries Plus, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Hartland, is a retailer of batteries, specialty light bulbs and phone repair services for the direct-to-consumer and commercial channels. The retailer, with more than 700 stores nationwide, also offers key programming, replacement and cutting services. Batteries Plus is owned by Freeman Spogli, a private equity firm based in Los Angeles and New York City.
