Menominee Nation’s Waupoose leads all runners at Symco

Manawa/Symco Invitational

Menominee Nation’s boys placed second among three teams and the girls were fourth among five competing at Symco.

Bryant Waupoose led all runners with a time of 17:54.6, followed by Ryan Corn at 18:46.8.

Michael Peters III was 14th in 20:50.6, followed by Cashius Reevis in 15th in 20:55.4 and Christopher Waubanascum in 16th in 22:05.9.

Also running were Chase Waupoose, who was 17th overall and Frankie Allery, who was 21st.

Darcy Webster led the girls, placing fifth overall in 23:53.5. Urijah Reevis was 13th in 25:44.0. Keira Nacotee placed 22nd, Kaylee Nacotee was 26th and Olivia Olson placed 27th.

Mimi Corn placed 28th.

Algoma Cross Country Meet

Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy and Wolf River Lutheran in Shawano runners competed as individuals and not as a team at Algoma.

Aspynn Anderson, Lena/STAA, was third best with a time of 22:47.72, and teammate Alisa Finger was fifth in 23:57.94.

Wolf River Lutheran’s Violet Buchholz placed 14th in 25:48.91.

Lena/STAA teammates Alexis Maloney placed 22nd and Carla Caballero Morante was 23rd. Work River Lutheran’s Ava Engle was 50th.

For the boys, Erik Kosch, of Lena/STAA, placed ninth overall with a time of 21:00.12. Teammate Dash Comins placed 14th in 21:46.18, a new personal record.

Lena/STAA’s Cooper Malloy placed 23rd, and Wolf River Lutheran’s Mark Buchholz was 36th.

Marshfield Invitational

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s female runners placed second among competitors from 18 teams, 13 of which competed at teams.

Leading the way was Rory Salvesen, who placed sixth overall in 20:34.3. Teammate Nora Bushman was close behind in ninth place in 20:47.6.

Harper Krull placed 19th in 21:51.7.

Also competing for the Chargers were Gabrielle Timm in 27th, Lilyana Groh in 35th, Delilah Schairer in 36th, Sydney Schairer in 78th,

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood boys placed 12th among the 12 competing teams.

Jonas Bushman led the team with a 69th place finish.

Rounding out the team were Marty Nowinsky in 74th, Dalton Fletcher in 78th, Milo Salvesen in 85t, Teagon Stewart in 97th and Monty Salvesen in 104th.
