Lena boys top Gresham in nonconference action

Lena 48, Gresham 41

Dash Comins and P.J. Finger each scored 13 points to lead Lena past Gresham 48-41 in boys basketball action.

Lucas Monigat scored seven points for Lena.

Lena carried a 23-21 lead into halftime and pulled away with a 25-20 second half, at one point leading by as much as 10 points.

Finger had a double-double as he also pulled down 10 rebounds.

Luke Koslowsky had eight rebounds. Comins had six rebounds, a steal and three assists.

Clay Peters and Monigat each also had three assists.

Nolan Pecore led Gresham with 16 points. Miles Wilber added eight, and Wyatt Neitzer contributed five.

Oconto Falls 81, Marinette 61

Within minutes of each side of halftime, Oconto Falls and Marinette played to a few lead changes, but then the Panthers slowly pulled away for an 81-61 North Eastern Conference win.

Jameson Beaman led Oconto Falls with a double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He also had two steals in the game.

Carson McDermid and Brady Bursa each scored 15 points. Bursa led the team with six assists and and four steals, while also contributing seven rebounds and one block. McDermid had five assists.

Teagan Tate recorded nine rebounds, one block, three steals and three assists.

Oconto Falls is 6-4 in conference action and 11-5 overall. Marinette is 0-9 in conference play and 3-14 overall.

Pulaski 52, West De Pere 48

Bohdan Schmidt was on fire as he scored 31 points in Pulaski’s 52-48 Fox River Classic Conference win over West De Pere.

Schmidt connected on 8-of-11 field goals, 4-of-8 3-pointers and 11-of-15 free throws.

Noah Mijal added 10 points, and Calan Bock scored eight.

Bock led Pulaski with six rebounds, and he and Mijal each had a steal. Mijal had four rebounds, and Schmidt pulled down three.

Schmidt and Mijal each had two assists, and Benjamin Shaw had one.

The Red Raiders improved to 5-5 in the conference and 8-7 overall, while the Phantoms fell to 7-3 in league play and 10-4 overall.

Winneconne 82, Shawano 63

The Shawano Hawks came up short, falling to Winneconne 82-63.

Despite the loss, the Hawks showed fight throughout the contest, led by a strong offensive effort from Jackson Nordin, who paced the team with 18 points. Greyson Swedberg added 14 points, providing a steady presence on offense, while Will Verkuilen chipped in 12 points to round out Shawano’s double-figure scorers.

Winneconne pulled away as the game progressed, capitalizing on key runs and consistent scoring to build a comfortable lead. Shawano continued to battle but was unable to close the gap down the stretch.

Nordin had a double-double with 10 rebounds. He also had one steal. Tristan Lawe collected five rebounds and steal, while Austin Heling pulled down four rebounds and had one block.

Cooper Boucher led with four assists. Verkuilen had three, and Collin Dieck had two.

Northland Pines 51, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 44

The Chargers fell to 12-3 with a 51-44 nonconference loss to Northland Pines.

Zandyr Barke led Wittenberg-Birnamwood with 14 points, followed by Tommy Gagnon with nine and Logan Gibson with eight.

Oliver Fraaza led the Chargers with eight rebounds and one block. Eddie Nowinsky contributed six rebounds, and Gibson had four rebounds and a steal.

Fraaza had five assists, followed by Kaden Yaeger with four and Gibson with three.

Other scores: Rosholt 52, Bowler 40; Niagara 68, Gillett 34; Suring 69, Wausaukee 21.
