The Knights of Columbus Bishop Fox Council 2836 announced a charitable donation to Lakeland Industries on Dec. 17, underscoring the organization’s ongoing commitment to community support and local partnership.

The donation of $5,743.60, raised through a council-sponsored Tootsie Roll fundraiser, was presented during a brief gathering attended by council officers and representatives of the Knights of Columbus and Lakeland Industries. Council leaders said the funds are intended to support Lakeland Industries’ continued operations and its role as a local employer and community partner.

“Supporting organizations that strengthen our community is central to our mission,” said Charles Ketchum, chairman of the Tootsie Roll event.

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal organization dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Lakeland Industries, a company operated at the Shawano County Human Services Complex in the Town of Wescott, has provided services to adults with intellectual disabilities and chronic mental health conditions for more than 40 years, including teaching about woodworking, recycling, assembly, life skills and more.
