One person is dead following a single-vehicle rollover Aug. 10.
At 11:44 a.m., the Shawano County Dispatch Center received a report of a one-vehicle crash on Navarino Road in the Town of Navarino. Initial reports indicated the vehicle rolled over into the ditch, coming to rest on its roof with the driver still in the vehicle.
Multiple Shawano County deputies and Wisconsin State Patrol troopers responded to the scene. Navarino-Lessor Fire Department and Clintonville Ambulance were dispatched to the scene as well. The driver of the vehicle was identified as an 89-year-old woman from the Nichols area, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling southbound when the vehicle drifted over the center line, entered the east ditch and struck a field access, causing the vehicle to land on its roof.
No further details, including the name of the individual, will be released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing. The crash is being investigated by the state patrol.
