Months of planning, a few hangups and thousands of little decisions along the way proved worth the time and effort as ground was broken May 6 for a new home for Shawano Family Dentistry.
Dr. Rebecca Stevens was joined by family, staff, city and chamber of commerce officials, and construction staff as they ceremoniously turned the dirt at the site of the new office at 3000 S. Airport Road, Shawano.
“We’re just so excited the community has welcomed us in,” she said. “We’re so excited to bring to the community and all the procedures and things we’ll be able to do now.”
She said the new, larger office would allow the staff to offer more services and conduct more procedures for patients.
The new building will be about 9,100 square feet and sit on about 2.8 acres of land at South Airport Road and Engel Drive.
Stevens thanked everyone for joining her family and staff on this journey.
“It’s a long time coming here,” said her husband, Andrew Stevens. “There’s a lot of hangups along the way, and we’re happy we got through all the challenges.”
The couple purchased the dental practice four years ago from the retiring Dr. Ralph Horsens.
Rebecca Stevens is originally from the West Coast and attended Marquette University’s dental school in Milwaukee. Her husband is from Racine, and the family moved to Shawano from Hartford.
“The biggest thank you is to our team, day and day out,” Andrew Stevens said. “Without them, we couldn’t do anything.”
