Oconto Falls’ girls basketball team advanced to the WIAA regional semifinals with a 79-27 win over Sturgeon Bay.
The sixth-seeded Panthers, 11-14 overall, will play Feb. 27 at No. 2 seed Little Chute, which had a bye in the first round.
Pulaski 65, Antigo 30
The Red Raiders crushed the Red Robins in the opening round of WIAA playoff action, winning 65-30.
Pulaski, seeded sixth, will travel to third seed Rhinelander on Feb. 27.
Suring 53, Mellen 38
Suring advanced to the regional semifinals with a 53-38 win over Mullen.
Suring, seeded sixth, will travel to take on Three Lakes/Phelps, the third seed, Feb. 27.
Barron 62, Menominee Nation 54
Barron’s 62-54 win in the WIAA girls regional quarterfinals ended the Menominee Nation season with a 16-9 record.
The Eagles tied for third with Weyauwega-Fremont at 8-6 in the CWC-East.
Chequamegon 55, Gillett 41
Gillett’s girls team lost 55-41 to Chequamegon in the WIAA regional quarterfinals.
At 14-11overall, Gillett placed tied for fourth with Suring at 9-7 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference.
Edgar 86, Gresham 15
Gresham ended its season with an 86-15 loss to Edgar in the WIAA regional quarterfinals.
The Wildcats, 8-16 overall, placed fourth in the CWC-North with an 0-4 mark.
