Wittenberg-Birnamwood 69, Stratford 31
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a 69-31 win over Stratford.
The Chargers are CWC-East conference champion at 14-0 and 24-0 overall.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood led from start to finish, including a 37-15 lead at halftime.
“This was great game for our seniors,” coach Nick Mechelke said. “Brie (Ladika), Melaina (Granquist) and Rory (Salvesen) have given the Charger program everything. They have been great role models for our community. Tonight was a great team effort and a great win to build on a playoff run.”
Salvesen led the Chargers with 28 points, followed by Granquist with 12 and Harper Rogowski with 10.
Zoey Thorson and Granquist each had seven rebounds, and Ava Brei added two. Thorson, Granquist and Brei each had two steals.
Rogowski and Granquist each dished out five assists, and Ladika contributed four.
Lena 69, Wausaukee 30
Lena ended the regular season with a 69-30 win over Wausaukee. The victory put the Wildcats at 14-2 for second place in the Marinette & Oconto Conference, while holding at 21-3 overall.
Ella Thomson led the Wildcats with 29 points, followed by Alisa Finger with 14 and Abby Kostreva with 13.
Finger posted 13 rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Ella Thomson recorded 11 rebounds, a block and three steals, while Kostreva had seven rebounds and six steals.
Kostreva led Lena with five assists, followed by Carla Cabellero-Morante with four and Kaelyn Cook with three.
