Want to earn a little extra cash while also protecting yourself on the road?
This holiday season, the Shawano Leader and WTCH Radio, together with Grieves Chiropractic Clinic and local law enforcement, are supporting the “Buckle Up for Bucks and Lives” campaign.
This long-running community effort promotes the importance of wearing a seat belt. At select locations throughout the holiday week, sponsors will hand out $10 in cash and free T-shirts to drivers who are buckled.
Now in its 20th year, the campaign aims to save lives, prevent injuries and reduce health care costs related to traffic accidents.
According to Shawano County Sheriff George Lenzner, six of the eight traffic fatalities in Shawano County in 2024 involved people who were not wearing a seat belt.
