CLUB NOTES: Bizi-Belles Home and Community Education

The Bizi-Belles Home and Community Education Club presented a wood flag with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Town of Belle Plaine in commemoration of the 45 years of service by the club to the community. The flag will be displayed at the town hall. Bizi-Belles was organized on Jan. 31, 1977, with 10 charter members living in the Belle Plaine township. Membership changed over the years. Now 45 years later, there are eight members, and the expanded boundary includes the Pella township. During 45 years as a club, Bizi-Belles continued to carry on the tradition of giving to improve community and family living. Giving of their time and donations to the following: Book Worms project for children in the Head Start Program, hand-made pillows and quilts for the Early Childhood Program, BIBS safety program, made blanket carriers for Shawano Hospital’s newborns. Donations went to Wee Care Food Pack program, Toys for Tots, Dollars for Scholars, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. They volunteered at Bike the Barn Quilt Ride, assisted with monetary donations to members and families in the community to help them with their medical or disaster expenses. Other donations were to the Cloverleaf Lakes boat landing improvement project, Shawano County Sheriff’s Department for the Jaws of Life and SOS K-9, Shawano Area Matthew 25, Safe Haven, Shawano Area Food Pantry and Resource Center, Veterans Home at King, Fisher House Wisconsin for veterans, Kathy House Milwaukee, the CP telethon, and to local health care centers.
